Version 5.18 is the 14th maintenance release for mSuite5.
Please read the associated Software Release Notice for information on bug fixes, this is available from
mSuite5 download area.
This section highlights the major changes:
| 1. | Improved performance a) Faster replication of large address books especially when using EAS devices. Both the initial replication and all subsequent replications are now significantly faster. This is especially noticeable when using large address books (>1,000 contacts) that are hosted on remote servers. b) mSuite now includes its own Notes Rich Text to MIME conversion routines which are significantly faster and give better results. As a result, the 'loading' time for Notes Rich Text message bodies (the time taken to retrieve them from the server) is much reduced. |
| 2. | One user, one device mSuite can now be configured to limit each mSuite user account to a single device. When this feature is active, if a user tries to connect with a different device than the one they previously used, they will fail authentication and so will not be allowed to access the system (from that device). This serves two purposes: a) using more than one EAS device with the same mSuite account is strongly discouraged since it results in data regularly being removed from the device and reloaded from the server every time a different device tries to sync. For more information about this, click here. b) it helps to prevent unapproved devices connecting to the system. Without this capability, a user could swap from an approved device to an unapproved device without the knowledge/approval of the administrator. |
| 3. | Extended security and device policy support for iOS devices a) it is now possible to deny access to iOS devices unless they have been ‘provisioned’ with a Device Settings policy (or Profile). It is also now possible to prevent the user deleting the policy (Profile) from the device. This ensures that all iOS devices using the system comply with corporate policy with respect to Device and Security Policy settings. b) the Device Settings policy for iOS devices has been extended to include Auto-Lock and Grace Period settings. |
| 4. | Support for more Android devices Devices now supported include Samsung Galaxy S2, Verizon Motorola Droid Pro and Sprint Motorola XPRT. |
