Manual Import

If you are not configured to use Self Registration, then users must be imported into the system manually.

1.	Expand the Administration node of the navigation tree, then right mouse click on Users and Groups, select All Tasks > Import Users. This will launch the User Import Wizard.

2.	Click Next on the Welcome screen. Now choose where you are going to import users from, the Domino Directory, Active Directory or LDAP, or a CSV file.

You must choose between the Domino Directory and the mNotes control database. This section describes only the Domino Directory. The mNotes control database is only relevant if you are migrating from the traditional mNotes/mForms product.

1.	Select Domino Directory.

2.	The field with the caption Use the following field on the user document as the user's account name is for advanced use and should be left blank.

3.	Select the address book that you want to import from.

4.	Press the Next button to continue.

5.	The next dialog lets you choose whether to import individual users, or all of the users in the selected groups. Select User or Group. and then press the Next button to continue.

Now add the users or groups that you want to import. Do this by using the Add, Add All, Remove or Remove All buttons in the middle of the dialog to get the required people or groups into the right window of the dialog. You can use the Search button to help you find the things you are looking for. Once the right window contains the people or groups that you want to import, press the Next button to continue.

7.	Select the mSuite group where you want your users or groups to be created. If you are importing Notes groups that contain other groups, checking the Import group structure checkbox will duplicate the Domino group hierarchy in mSuite.

Select which element of the Domino directory information is going to be used to create the mSuite account name - remember that mSuite account names must be unique, so normally you will choose Email address or Short name or Notes name, as this is the name that the user will use to authenticate. Email address usually works best as people remember their email address.

9.	Optionally you can set a default password for all users. If you are using anything other than mCenter authentication this is irrelevant. This would normally only be used in test or evaluation circumstances.

10.	Press Next to import the users into mSuite.

11.	Click Finish to complete the import wizard.

Importing users from Active Directory or from an LDAP directory normally will require information from your AD or LDAP administrator.

1.	Enter the Host, Port, Protocol Version, Base, User DN and Password obtained from the AD or LDAP admin, then press Next to continue.

2.	Select User or Group.

4.	Select the mSuite group where you want your users or groups to be created. If you are importing Notes groups that contain other groups, checking the import group structure checkbox will duplicate the Domino group hierarchy in mSuite.

6.	Optionally you can set a default password for all users. If you are using anything other than mCenter authentication this is irrelevant. This would normally only be used in test or evaluation circumstances.

7.	Press Next to import the users into mSuite.

8.	Click Finish to complete the import wizard.

1.	Prepare a CSV file listing all your users with the following structure:

Column Number	User details to enter
1	Windows account name
2	First name
3	Last name
4	Initials
5	Notes name

You can add a sixth column to the file, which contains the display name (i.e. the name which will be displayed in the mSuite Admin Console): if this column is not added, the first and last names will be joined together to form the display name.

2.	Enter the file name or browse to the .csv file that you want to import.

Now add the users that you want to import. Do this by using the Add, Add All, Remove or Remove All buttons in the middle of the dialog to get the required people or groups into the right window of the dialog. Once the right window contains the people that you want to import, press the Next button to continue.
