What is the Service Control Manager?

The Service Control Manager is a single machine service that runs all of the other mSuite services.  This makes the mSuite machine services easier to manage.  The SCM is capable of stopping, starting and restarting all the mSuite services.  It also maintains a log that has information on resource utilization, sub-service stop and start events.

The Service Control Manager shows in the machine's Services application as the CommonTime Service Control Manager.  Stopping the Service Control Manager will stop all of the mSuite services.  Restarting this service will restart all of the mSuite services.
